Meet Mary Chalk
Helping you feel seen, safe, and supported—just as you are.
Hi, I’m Mary. I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to live through hard things and to heal from them. I lost my dad at a young age and grew up in a blended family, which shaped my understanding of grief, identity, and complex family dynamics. As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent person myself, I also understand the experience of making sense of your brain and identity later in life. These experiences deeply inform my passion for helping others navigate their own paths of healing, connection, and self-understanding.
In therapy, I bring empathy, authenticity, and gentle guidance. Whether you’re an individual navigating anxiety, trauma, or identity questions - or a couple working to reconnect - I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity. I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel seen and heard.
I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process trauma and anxiety, and I also use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy to support meaningful, practical change. In couples work, I draw from Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners move from disconnection toward deeper intimacy and understanding.
I’m especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD or on the autism spectrum, and I strive to create a space that honors your unique brain, strengths, and story.
When I’m not in session, you can find me painting, sewing, baking (often with flour in my hair), or curled up with my rescue pets and a good book. I'm a big believer in creative expression and laughter as healing tools.
If you’re ready to feel more connected to yourself and the people you love, I’d be honored to support you.
If you’d like to schedule an initial appointment with me, please feel free to book your appointment online or call us at 919-551-7222.
