Aaron Stamper, InterN

It can be hard to enter into the painful and darkest places of our lives alone. Are you worried about what other people might say or think? Have you tried sharing, but others will not listen, understand, or even see what you are going through? In those dark moments, do you wish that someone would come alongside and carry the torch for you, whether by shining the light on the darker moments, or lighting the way for the journey ahead?

I would be honored to be your torchbearer.

My name is Aaron Stamper, and I am a Marriage & Family Therapy Intern. I hope to be a safe place where you can explore the events of your past, the emotions they trigger, and discover how it informs your present. I will collaborate with you to live out a life that aligns with your values and begins your healing process. My goal is to see, hear, and support you in the journey ahead.

I use different evidence-based approaches from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I have a faith-based background that comes from a Christian Worldview. This informs my values but I don't expect those I counsel to also hold to these same beliefs.

Outside of counseling, I am a Dungeon Master and board game enthusiast. I am a father to my precious daughter and husband to my best friend. I am originally from Dallas, TX, and I have lived overseas, but have found a new home in North Carolina.

I know from experience how frightening and difficult it can be to explore the dark parts of ourselves.

If you’d like to chat to see if we’d be a good fit, please feel free to book your appointment online or call us at 919-551-7222 to speak over the phone and discuss your goals for therapy!
